The history of Major League Baseball.

In 1890, Major League Baseball decided to make series play the standard for the Major League Baseball schedule. From that point on teams would play mostly three and four-game series. This was done to cut down on traveling between games. Since then, Major League Baseball has often been analyzed from an individual-stat perspective. Over the years, analysts and baseball professionals have developed large databases of individual statistics to better understand MLB game performance. What has often been overlooked is the consistent mathematical foundation of series play. The Series Edge is based on two fundamental concepts.

1) All individual stats lead to how good or bad a team performs, and their performance measurement is a ( Teams Winning Percentage ).
2) Series play is mathematically sound.

Once you explore team matchups alongside current series stats, you can see how series-level data adds valuable context. This is why The Series Edge statistical information can become a useful starting point for analyzing Major League Baseball.
